Earrings with Byzantine elements inspired by the longest earrings witnessed in the neo-Hellenic era.
Description
Earrings inspired by the longest earrings witnessed in Greece during the 18th and 19th century, mostly in Epirus and Macedonia. Attached to woman’s headdress, they framed her face and neck, reaching her shoulders. They were usually decorated with agates, turquoises and corals which were sources of power and protected against evil spirits. Their imperial character, impressive length, as well as the harmonious relationship between their sound and movement relate them to the Byzantine grandeur, yet with a touch of baroque.
Handcrafted in Greece.
Each piece is unique, slight variations may occur.
CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Your AENÁLIA jewellery, whilst delicate, is crafted by hand and destined to live a long life if it is carefully worn and taken care of. To avoid damaging it, it is imperative that you don’t try to adjust or change its shape. You can clean your jewellery by wiping it with a soft cloth. Avoid contact with liquids and body care products as they can harm the plating. Store it away from heat and humidity, preferably in its original box or an airtight jewellery bag.
